The beaded shield is hand carved before being intricately beaded with glass beads, cowrie shells and manilla string by the Tikar Tribe in Cameroon. Traditionally the shield were used as defensive weapons and also as decorative objects, which symbolise status and wealth in Cameroon. These iconic decor pieces are sold with a stand but may be mounted on the wall too.
